This is a fantastic collaboration between 書道家 Master of Japanese calligraphy, Oskar 大濤 Hellström, and AndoAndoAndo. Limited to 15 pcs.
- 雲 -

雲
This character means 'cloud'. It is written in a stylized cursive form to capture the flowing movements of clouds soaring by high in the sky. Reminiscent of how time flows ever onward.
The careful use of speed and ink management results in the washi paper showing through on some places on the stroke. This is called 'kasure' and creates a lighter and flowing sensation.
There are many different ways to write 雲 in cursive, and this variant is inspired by my teachers writing.
The strokes are on the thicker side to create a more powerful expression and the techniques used for this is probably one of the hardest techniques to learn, because it is meant to resemble having no technique. I had been practicing this style for years before I got the approval from my teacher.Oskar 大濤 Hellström

The Dial
The dial with 大濤's「雲」calligraphy printed onto AndoAndoAndo's Japanese washi paper dial.
The Chapter Ring
A new chapter ring was developed for this limited edition. It has a black raised chapter ring with recesses functioning as hour markers.
The chapter ring was inspired by 借景 / "borrowed scenery" . Which is an artistic method of using something external as the element within, traditionally used in the Chinese and Japanese gardens by utilizing mountains and other scenery elements outside of the garden as a part of the garden.
In the Japanese 茶道 / "the way of tea" architects, this concept is applied sometimes having a round opening or a frame, sometimes on the wall so the garden outside of the tea room would be included as a part of the room, or as a "painting" which borrowed from the real scenery.
A kanji character, unlike a phonetical letter, is a word. And a word is a way to objectify an idea or a phenomenon , in order to convey its idea to other people.
In this case, simplifying and making the elements / meaning of what "cloud" somewhat abstract in that process. However this way we can convey its concept, making something that is seen and felt subjectively into an objective element.
Having that at the center of the dial, with this chapter ring functioning as a window or a frame, a looking glass, and it cuts out the world of Japanese calligraphy, and the character "cloud" framed onto your wrist.

1-Year Manufacturing Defects Warranty
I have been wearing one of the functioning prototypes for almost 6 months. So far, it's functioned with no problems, and I am confident that it would for at least the next 6 months.
The reason I made sure that it's specifically 1-Year warranty for "Manufacturing Defects" is that I believe that most of the people who have never utilized the warranty of a product don't realize that the warranty only covers Manufacturing Defects. Some watch brands offer a longer warranty, such as 5 years or 10 years—but by then, how would you know that your broken watch suffered a manufacturing defect, or normal wear-and-tear? And would you ever be able to convince the brand's customer service that it was indeed a manufacturing defect?
Their warranty doesn't cover wear-and-tear, or user error, and neither does this warranty. But I do think it is important to clarify that it is a warrant for manufacturing defects, instead of just issuing that it is a vaguely worded "warranty" which sounds like something that might cover something more than manufacturing defects. And 1 year is enough time to warrant manufacturing defects.
